This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, protect, and handle your information when you use our website, mobile applications, and secure digital continuity platform (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Privacy Commitment: Zero-Knowledge Architecture

LifEscrow is built on a privacy-first, zero-knowledge encryption model. Your highly sensitive life continuity details, documents, and asset directions are encrypted on your device before they reach our servers.

• We do not store, view, or have access to your unencrypted files, data clues, or notes.
• We do not hold, see, or have the ability to reset your master passwords or private encryption keys.
• Because we cannot access your encrypted vault data, we can never sell it, use it for advertising, or disclose it to third parties without your explicit, system-configured trigger conditions being met.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Billing Information (Unencrypted Data)

• Identity Data: Your name, email address, and phone number.
• Billing Data: Your payment details, billing address, and subscription choices (processed securely through our third-party payment gateways; LifEscrow does not directly store credit card numbers).
• Navigator Details: The names, email addresses, and phone numbers of the trusted contacts ("Navigators") you intentionally designate to receive your information later.

2.2 Secure Vault Data (Zero-Knowledge Encrypted Data)

Content you input into your Estate Roadmap, Estate Vault, or Business Continuity Module, including account location clues, policy details, notes, and uploaded legacy documents. All data in this category is completely encrypted. LifEscrow only hosts the scrambled, secure ciphertext.

2.3 Technical and Usage Data

Log data, IP addresses (anonymized where possible), browser type, MFA logs, and platform activity data (e.g., the date of your last proof-of-life check-in or login).

3. How We Use Your Information

• To Run the Platform: Authenticating login, managing your subscription tier, processing billing renewals.
• To Execute Your Triggers: Monitoring automated check-in schedules to determine if an escrow trigger has been initiated.
• To Communicate With Navigators: Reaching out to your designated Navigators for multi-stage identity verification when a data release is triggered.
• Platform Security: Preventing fraud, monitoring for unauthorized access, auditing system integrity.

4. How Information is Shared and Disclosed

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is only shared under these strict conditions:

4.1 To Your Designated Navigators

Your secure vault data is decrypted and released only after your self-configured escrow conditions, proof-of-life checks, and multi-stage verifications are completely fulfilled.

4.2 With Authorized Professional Advisors

If you use the Advisor Portal and explicitly grant permission, your authorized estate lawyer, financial advisor, or broker may view the operational overview of your roadmap. They cannot access your encrypted vault unless explicitly authorized through your settings.

4.3 Third-Party Service Providers

We partner with trusted third-party vendors to handle operational infrastructure (cloud hosting, payment processing). Providers only receive basic account metadata necessary to perform their services and are legally bound to protect it.

4.4 Legal Requirements

Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, if LifEscrow is served with a legal subpoena or government request for your encrypted vault data, we can only provide the encrypted, unreadable ciphertext. We will disclose unencrypted account metadata only if strictly required by law.

5. Data Security and Storage

• End-to-End Encryption: Vault content is protected using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
• Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Robust MFA protocols safeguard access points.
• Continuous Security Audits: Regular external security testing, vulnerability scans, and code compliance reviews.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account Active: We retain information for as long as your account remains active and in good standing.
• Cancellation: Upon closure, unencrypted metadata and encrypted vault files are queued for permanent deletion within 30-60 days, unless a preservation trigger is active.
• Inactive Accounts: If an account becomes inactive due to a missed check-in, data is held securely in escrow per your predefined instructions.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA), you may have rights to Access and Portability, Correction, and Deletion. Submit requests through your account dashboard or contact support.

8. International Data Transfers

LifEscrow operates globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in secure cloud servers located outside your home jurisdiction, in compliance with recognized international data protection frameworks.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. For material modifications, we will notify you by email or a prominent in-app notice at least 30 days before updates take effect.
